Dilon Wong
Founder, Design & Operations Lead

Dilon Wong is an accomplished Architect with an insatiable appetite for watches, design, mechanics, and intricate works. He honed his craft at the esteemed (AA) Architectural Association school of Architecture in London, UK, and has worked at top-tier international practices, including Foster + Partners, Kohn Pederson Fox, Francis-Jones Carpenter, Bligh Voller Nield, and Peddle Thorp & Walker, both in London and Sydney. With over a decade of experience leading teams in the field, he specializes in facade detailing and has played a key role in 15 large-scale projects of varying typologies, including the Philadelphia Comcast Tower (USA), Wanda One Nine Elms (UK), and the recently completed New Sydney Fish Market (AUS).


Despite pursuing a career in architecture, Dilon's fascination with horology was sparked when his father gifted him a vintage Rolex timepiece upon graduation. His passion for the fine intricate details of building designs eventually led him back to the world of watches, unbeknownst to him at the time that it was the same field as his father's special gift.

“It started as a side project with a friend on a whim - who knew I would end up here...”

How it all began

“James, a close friend of mine, approached me one day with an idea to start a watch brand together. As an architect, I was intrigued by the opportunity to apply my skills in designing a product that combined my passion for watches and building details. Our journey began, but unfortunately, after three months, James had to withdraw, and our paths diverged.

It was a pivotal moment; I was fully committed to a demanding career as an architect, yet the opportunity to explore an uncharted territory beckoned me. Despite the uncertainty, I was drawn to the process and would often lose myself in it, pouring all my free time into the project.


For five years, I dedicated my evenings and weekends to the endeavor. Finally, in November 2021, the project launched on Kickstarter and exceeded my expectations. By December 2022, all Kickstarter orders were fulfilled, and Mancheront was born. The road was bumpy, filled with detours, but who would have thought that a casual idea from a friend would lead me back to that special gift my father gave me. Who we are

The name 'Mancheront' (pronounced "mon-sher-on") is a portmanteau of the two French words 'manche' and 'forgeron', meaning 'sleeve' and 'blacksmith'. We are a collective of individuals with specific skills and passions, united by a common goal: to create a beautifully crafted timepiece that offers a blend of classic watchmaking with modern design innovation that will stand the test of time.

Every single external part of the timepiece has gone through countless design iterations and thorough testing. 90% of the external parts are custom made to our design and specifications. The timepiece has been awarded with 4 original design patents across 28 major countries. We always strive to offer the highest levels of design, build quality and ergonomics.
